Celebrities In Jail
The fast life of the actors and actresses might make them think they’re above the law. But just like any normal person, you go to jail in you step out of line. Some stars are sentenced for mere minutes, and some for several years. Their misdemeanors range from driving under the influence of alcohol to selling drugs to undercover officers, so there’s no shortage of misbehavior among these stars. These famous celebrities in jail have certainly learned their lesson.
Tim Allen
Of all celebrities in jail, this one doesn’t seem like the type who’d go to prison. The Home Improvement star didn’t have all that money when he was starting out, and he tried all sorts of means just to get by. In 1978, he was sentenced to 3 to 7 years in prison for drug trafficking, having in his possession 1.4 pounds of coke. After 2 years and 4 months, he was paroled, and has been an upstanding citizen ever since. Buzz Lightyear would most definitely be proud of him.
Danny Trejo
That mean-looking face does not come without its merits. His tough roles as the villain, especially as the anti-hero in Machete, must have come from his real-life experiences behind bars. For 11 years, he was an inmate in California, sentenced because of armed robbery and drug abuse. He even became a boxing champion in prison. Thankfully, when he was released, he began his career as a boxing trainer for Eric Roberts, and has not looked back since.
Christian Slater
This guy had the nerve to attempt to board a plane with a 9mm pistol in 1994. In 1997, he spent three months in prison because he fought back at the police and beat his girlfriend. His battery even involved the man who tried to assist Christian Slater’s girlfriend. Nobody gets away with hitting a woman, not even a Hollywood has-been. He also screamed “’the Germans are coming, and they will kill us!” under the influence of drugs like cocaine and heroin.
Robert Downey Jr.
He had drug problems since his early years, but things went to a whole new level when he got arrested and spent one year in jail for breaking into his neighbor’s house. He was found passed out in one of the beds, but don’t feel sorry for Robert yet–he did manage to turn his life around, mainly thanks to his good friend Mel Gibson. Mel paid Robert’s insurance fund for the movie “The Singing Detective”, and it was Downey’s triumphant return to the big screen. Needless to say, he hasn’t stopped working since. Among his latest works, we can find Iron Man, The Avengers, and Sherlock Holmes. Whatever his next role may be, it’s certain to be a smashing success.
Ja Rule
The life of a famous rapper might be rocky, but it’s no excuse to have felonious possession of weapons. He was found with a.40-caliber semiautomatic gun that’s loaded in his car in 2007, and he was sentenced to 2 years behind bars. He was also found with 3 counts of tax evasion, failing to pay about $3 million from his income.
Michelle Rodriguez
Drunk driving seems to be a favorite of Hollywood stars, because when it comes to celebrities in jail, alcohol is the number one cause. Much like “The Simple Life” heiress Paris Hilton’s arrests for alcohol-related reckless driving, Michelle Rodriguez was arrested in 2005 for driving under the influence of alcohol, along with two other cast members of “Lost”. Rodriguez was sentenced to 240 hours of community service, but she chose to spend five days in jail instead. And unlike another repeat offender Lindsay Lohan, she actually went through with it and didn’t violate the terms of her probation.
