Celebrities That Are Related
The competition is cut-throat in Hollywood, but it’s even fiercer when you’re up against a member of your family. When you’re working in showbiz with your own flesh and blood, it’s hard not to try and one-up the other. These popular celebrities that are related all know what it feels like.
Stellan and Alexander Skarsgard
While Stellan Skarsgard has truly established himself in Hollywood with films like Good Will Hunting, Mamma Mia, and even Thor, his son Alexander followed in his footsteps in acting. Alexander literally made his mark by playing as a fanged force to be reckoned with in True Blood. Both father and son have also starred in “Meloncholia” together—talk about popular celebrities that are related indeed.
Julia and Emma Roberts
That beautifully bright smile had to come somewhere, and as luck would have it, both Emma and Julia’s genes do not disappoint. Julia Roberts is an international superstar, and while she went about her business, her niece accompanied her on her sets. Now, Emma has grown into her own with films like Nancy Drew and Valentine’s Day.
Melissa McCarthy and Jenny McCarthy
The Mike and Molly star and the former Playboy model are both extremely popular and funny, so it’s no wonder they are related. Melissa and Jenny are cousins: Jenny’s father Dan and Melissa’s dad Michael are actually brothers.
Sadly, these two don’t seem to get along. Jenny recently faced rumors about her criticizing her cousin’s curvaceous figure while the brunette was working as a production assistant early in her career: “There is a crazy story going around that I once told my cousin, Melissa, that she would have to lose weight in order to get into show business. Nothing could be further from the truth”, the blond beauty explained. Nevertheless, Melissa appeared on Howard Stern’s show and admitted she wouldn’t attend to Jenny’s wedding because she and her cousin are “on opposite worlds now”.
James and Dave Franco
Born in Palo Alto, California, the Franco brothers share an incredible talent and a smoldering hot gaze. The elder Franco is not only a kooky actor, but he is also a director, screenwriter, author, and producer. With films like Pineapple Express, Oz the Great and Powerful, Spiderman, and the gripping 127 Hours under his belt, it’s hard not to overshadow his younger brother. But Dave Franco has his own achievements to be proud of, with Charlie St. Cloud, Now You See Me, 21 Jump Street, and Neighbors on his movie list.
Luke and Owen Wilson
Owen Wilson is one of the country’s most beloved comedians, and he has tickled our funny bone from Meet The Parents to Wedding Crashers to The Internship. He did the voice of lovable Lightning McQueen in the Pixar films Cars and Cars 2, and he made us tear up in Marley & Me. Not to be outdone, Luke Wilson began his career when his older brother co-wrote a short film called Bottle Rocket. He has since appeared in Charlie’s Angels, Legally Blonde, Vacancy, and so much more.
The Baldwin Brothers
When it comes to celebrities that are related, perhaps the most popular clan of brothers in Hollywood are the Baldwin brothers. Notorious for both their talent and their less-than-honorable behaviors, Alec, William, Daniel and Stephen are not strangers to fame. Daniel and Stephen have both dealt with drug addiction, with the former caught with cocaine possession and the latter overcoming his substance abuse issues by converting into a born again Christian. Alec Baldwin has become the most successful one so far, recently known best for his role in 30 Rock. He does, however, have a history of punching reporters and being removed from an airplane for belligerence. William Baldwin actually has the most stable personal life of the four brothers, with roles in Flatliners and Hawaii Five-O. He is currently married to Wilson Phillips’ Chynna Phillips, and has three wonderful children named Jameson, Vance, and Brooke.
